Single Review: We Three Kings - Give it to me, go!
Sam Jacques / 08-03-2019
The Manchester three piece are clear in their intentions on this single, as they order you over the top and into a pulsating onslaught of rock n roll riffs. A whirring screech of guitar feedback preludes the ferocity to come - hooky vocals delivered with a Jack White-esque snarl and a booming rhythm section. The track runs sonically close to its roots in 2016’s Ember and 2018’s Fire EP’s yet breathes new life into the sound. A punkish angle allows for energy to flow through the grooves – a sure goer for the band’s famed live site. With multiple plays on BBC Music Introducing, the song is gaining momentum and is surely on the cusp of spilling over into the currently rock-barren landscape of popular music. All in all, We Three Kings have delivered once again with a concrete single, one that will surely cement their reputation as the band that supplies the kind of heavy riffs and gutsy attitude that others are afraid to.
