Welcome and Introduction

When I joined university I never expected anything big to happen in my first year. Settle in, make friends, do well in university work and maybe join a couple of societies. A few months down the line and I’ve done all of that and a whole lot more. Mad Alice Records being under the umbrella of ‘a whole lot more’. I’m glad that I was able to have the opportunity to become friends with Aidan Laycock and Alex Fisher. Not just because I am getting the opportunity in getting my dream job but that I am also doing this with some of my closest friends. Through this company we will be providing you with talented and hard working bands. We will also be providing interviews with bands and behind the scenes footage on how the company works. You’ll see over time the content that we produce I guess so I’ll shut up now and I’ll let you read on and learn more about me and my thoughts on the record label:

What’s your name and job role?

Rachel Colley – Marketing

What does Mad Alice Records mean to you?

It sounds cheesy as hell and it is the biggest cliché in the world but family. We’re all family here at Mad Alice Records. Even though Aidan and Alex can be a pain and most days I’d like to bash their heads together there’s really no other two people I’d share this amazing venture with. Ok, ok, I’ll stop being soppy now.

What do you think Mad Alice Records can bring to the music business?

We’re a Non-Genre specific record label, which I feel is something that is lacking within the music business itself right now. Most record labels seem to go to a Genre and stick to it. Mad Alice Records will make sure that we won’t be doing that at all. We’re open to all varieties of music and people to create a friendly atmosphere for everyone.

And finally, what music would you say you’re into?

That’s hard. I like to listen to mostly everything. Even the pop chart hits that get stuck in my head. Usually though I am more of a rock girl since that was what I grew up on. Bands such as Green Day, Enter Shikari, Patent Pending, Avenged Sevenfold and a whole lot more.
